Another update on the ongoing saga of
the renovations. The new kitchen has now been pushed out until September with
no date given. The flooring has now been pushed out until the 19 September and
wallpapering sometime after that. We have to wait for the wallpapering before
we install the new heat pump and the range-hood. The new lounge suite will take
three to four months to be ready in the colour we want.
Family are coming for our 140th
church celebrations the second week in October. I’m praying that the heat pump
is up! There will literally be no chairs for them to sit on. Hopefully the new
kitchen will at least be installed so I can unpack all the boxes that are
currently stored in the spare bedrooms otherwise I have no place for them to
sleep. I am laughing at the thought of sleeping bags in the lounge around the
piano which is currently right in the middle where we moved it to allow painters
to get around it.
But today, I had a lovely relaxing
morning. My friend is still unwell so had told me earlier in the week she
wouldn’t make our lunch date. I invited another friend who is currently very
depressed, since I had the time free. However, she is feeling overwhelmed at
the moment and declined. So I was trying to think who else I could invite who
might need a little encouragement.
Then it occurred to me—I have a free
morning! Hooray! So instead of filling it up as I could so easily have done, I
went out and had a wander around a local shopping area, then used a free
voucher to buy myself a hot lunch and a drink in a local restaurant. So roast
pork, roast potatoes, roast pumpkin, carrots, cauliflower and broccoli with
apple sauce and gravy plus a raspberry and lemonade drink—all free. What a
treat. Then I went to a favourite café and took my time over a lovely cup of
coffee while having a read of my exciting novel.
I felt so relaxed when I arrived home,
and ready to get stuck in to work. We can get so very busy, it is important to
take time out to relax and do something we enjoy if we get the chance.
May your week be joyful, may you use
your time wisely and may you have a chance to relax in the busyness of life.
God bless you each.
