Unanswered prayer

 

Why do I feel abandoned,

My empty heart in pain.

Why do my words not reach you,

As I pray again and again.

 

‘Dear Heart’, I hear in my spirit,

‘I’ve not abandoned you.

No matter how you are feeling

My promises are true.’

 

‘You think your prayer unanswered,

That doesn’t mean it’s so.

Sometimes the answer’s wait,

Sometimes the answer’s no.’

 

‘Sometimes your answer’s coming

But in a different way.

Because, I know the future

And what’s best for today.’

 

‘All things work for good

If you, in me, remain.

Surrender all and trust me

I’ll make my purpose plain.’                                  

 

‘If yet, you feel no comfort,

Then to my throne, please come.

And pray the prayer that never fails

That My Will, be done.’
