I have been pondering God’s love recently. I had read some blogs
and listened to a podcast that resonated with me. How often do we think God
couldn’t possibly forgive us for some sin we committed? How frequently do we
let the enemy tell us we are not good enough, we don’t deserve forgiveness? Our
small group was discussing forgiveness this week. How often do we not forgive
ourselves, even though God has forgiven us? What terrible pride to believe we
know better than God as to whether we deserve forgiveness. God’s words tell us
He forgives us when we come with a repentant heart. Not only does he forgive
us, he cleanses us of ALL unrighteousness, THEN, chooses to remember our sin no
more. How deep is God’s love for us?
I wonder if we can gain a profound understanding of how
passionately God loves us. Is it possible to really know the power of His love?
Paul prays for us in Ephesians 3:17-19
that ‘you, being
rooted and established in love, may have power, together with all the Lord’s
holy people, to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love
of Christ, 19 and to know this love that surpasses
knowledge—that you may be filled to the measure of all the fullness of
God.’
Know this—God loves you even more than you can imagine. Go
after the power to understand our deeply He loves you. Do not let the enemy
tell you any different. When God forgives, He forgives! End of story! Do not
let Satan continue to accuse you once you have already been forgiven. Trust in
Him, believe in His love and forgiveness; walk in His love and forgiveness.
May you experience the width, the length, the height, and
the depth of God’s love for you today.
